Altera Nios II Linux kernel has merged with Altera ARM based SoC
Altera announces the release of Altera Nios II Linux on the v3.9 Linux kernel, built with the latest version of the Nios II GCC compiler, version 4.7.3. The Altera Nios II Linux kernel has now merged with the Altera ARM based SoC Linux and can be found under the same release branch on RocketBoards.org.
Nios II Linux v3.9 kernel incorporates the following changes:
-New process handler with new copy_thread() implementation
-Added futex support
-Added IRQ domain support
-Improved exception handling that avoided double TLB miss
-Switched to generic syscall for sigalstack(), sigsuspend(), sigaction(), fork(), vfork()
-Legacy and redundant code clean up
-License header clean up
