Overview

The MitySOM-5CSx Development Kit provides a complete development environment and gets you up and running quickly on your Altera Cyclone V SoC project. The kit is comprised of a MitySOM-5CSx System on Module (SOM) and a base board that features an array of interfaces and expansion headers such as USB, Debug RS232 to USB Console, Full HSMC Expansion Connector, Partial HSMC Expansion Connector, PCI-e x4 Expansion Header, MMC/SD Card, Gigabit Ethernet and Dual CAN Bus interfaces. The SOM + base board design gives you the flexibility to develop your own custom base board using the kit base board design files as a jumpstart, while avoiding many of the technical and schedule challenges that come with new CPU subsystem design. MitySOM-5CSx modules are available in production volume with options from 25 to 110KLE, in both commercial and industrial temps.

MitySOM-5CSx Block Diagram

The following is a block diagram for the MitySOM-5CSx System on Module (SOM). The MitySOM-5CSx combines a Cyclone V SoC with up to 2GB of DDR3 CPU/FPGA RAM with ECC, 512MB of dedicated DDR3 FPGA RAM (optional), up to 48MB of QPSI NOR Flash, and onboard power supplies creating a high-bandwidth system for embedded applications. By combining six 3.125Gbps transceivers, one PCIe hard core, up to 133 user I/O and dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, the system can simultaneously acquire and efficiently process large amounts of data.
